I’ve been on a huge Ani Difranco kick the past several months, enough so that I bought a used copy of Reveling/Reckoning that was such a formative artistic experience for me back in high school. Ani has stayed on my radar ever since, and I still get excited about any new albums she puts out, her most recent being 2021’s Revolutionary Love. I think it’s her raw, open, and unapologetic approach to creating that affects me as much as it does, even well into my 30s. So this week’s “on rotation …” is dedicated to one of the most influential (to me, anyway) women I’ve ever listened to.
