Alrighty, it’s that time of the year again! In just a few short weeks, it’s going to be February, the shortest month of the year and the month in which I do a challenge on something that is a bit more short-form. I’ve done TV shows (Friends) and podcasts (The Adventure Zone), and, in the future, will be focusing more on movie trilogies (I’m looking at you, Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings). But this year? I’m going a bit more old school.

I actually had this one planned before I decided to complete a challenge on Cowboy Bebop back in November, so this is unintentional to have two anime series in a row. But in February, we’re looking at Bubblegum Crisis.

I will forgive you if you aren’t familiar with this series, but y’all, you have no idea how much BGC has influenced me. By the end of this month, you’ll know, and if you plan on watching in an effort to figure out what I love about this series, you’ll understand. BGC was heavily influenced by Blade Runner, which you’ll see from the get-go, but it’s basically about four women who fight robots that go ham on the populace of MegaTokyo. The only other thing that I think is important to know is that it’s very anti-corporate, so like … it’s right up my alley. And maybe yours?
