30 Day Parks and Recreation Challenge, Day 1: How I Was Introduced to Parks and Recreation

I am one of those people who never really gets into anything right at the beginning, at least in terms of media. Like with Game of Thrones, I’ve watched Seasons 1 and 2, part of Season 3, and most of Season 7. Don’t judge me. I have been meaning to watch Ash vs. the Evil Dead, The Handmaid’s Tale, Maniac, and like thirty other shows that so many other people have gotten into. It even took me a good four or five months before I’d finally watch Jessica Jones. It was no different with Parks and Recreation.

With Parks and Rec, I didn’t come in at the very end, but I’d heard my friends raving about it every single time a new episode would air. So when Target was having a huge sale on TV show DVDs, I bought the first two seasons on a whim, figuring why the hell not. I got home and blazed through them; like seriously, I watched the entire first season (granted, it was only six episodes) in record time and finished the second season the next day. Luckily, this was right before the third season was going to start, so my yearning for more episodes was quickly sated. I was hooked, though, especially after Chris and Ben arrived, and I was a devoted viewer until the finale.

So basically, I place the blame squarely on the shoulders of Target. Damn you, Target. And also, thanks, I GUESS.
