28 Day Challenge: The Adventure Zone, Day 18: Favorite Villain

Happy Presidents’ Day, everybody! A day that most government employees have off that will probably be spent sitting around and doing nothing! Or shopping! I happened to treat myself to a Fitbit Charge 3 (yay sales!), but I took care of that on Saturday, so my Presidents’ Day will be spent writing.

But anyway, onto the challenge!

The Big Bad for the Balance series is the Hunger, and honestly, it’s one of the weaker villains in terms of story, in my opinion. I kind of look at it like the First from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, where I have a hard time imagining such a massive, threatening, almost galactic force being defeated by a few people. But with the other villains, a certain threat level still exists, but Griffin is able to give them personality, and nowhere is this better expressed than in the first Final Boss, Magic Brian.

I love, love, love Magic Brian, and even though later villains were just as memorable (Edward and Lydia from “The Suffering Game” come to mind immediately), they will never replace Magic Brian as my favorite. From his goofy German accent to his comical, nearly neverending fall at the end of “Here There Be Gerblins,” he’s just perfect. Just watch the above video to get a snippet of why I adore him so much.

Seriously, you’ll thank me later.
