Although Ash doesn’t follow any particular kind of religion, he is fascinated by the idea of fate and a big universal plan created by some all-knowing something or other. So yes, he would definitely have – and has had – his fortune read. He is very similar to the vaguely hippie vibe of the mid-1990s, where he doesn’t really believe in astrology but finds it fascinating enough that he knows more about it than he should. He even understands the differences between star charts based on Earth versus those based on Mars and even Jupiter’s moon settlements. One of his favorite accessories is a mood ring he got as a prize at a rather crunchy festival back on Earth; he wears it on his index finger and fidgets with it when he gets bored or anxious.
