Character’s Pet Peeves

Doreen Aberra is a high-powered managing editor of one of Paradiso’s major news outlets, known for her general good sense and objective approach to her work. She’s also very much a Type A personality, driven past what most people would consider sane. These traits tend to make her very particular about her environment, both in her actual surroundings and with whom she shares her time. Slow walkers are the bane of her existence, as are people who take too much time to decide on what to order at restaurants. She also strongly dislikes meandering conversations and small talk, actively avoiding situations where she cannot escape from them; her current boss is grooming her to take his position when he retires in a few years, which requires her to actively participate in the spotlight, such as at high society parties. Understandably, she finds these outings demeaning but unfortunately necessary, so she brings along at least one companion each time to save her from any conversation that might last too uncomfortably long.

After all, she’s a busy woman; news is happening every minute on Paradiso.
