Rumors in Paradiso

And yay, an opportunity to talk about yet another one of my favorite characters to write: Tate Bjorge, the husband to Catherine Nzingha, whose entire outward personality is based on rumors.

Who is Tate? His public face tells one story – he’s the perpetually cheating husband of Catherine Nzingha; a playboy entertainment mogul with a different starlet on his arm every night; a brilliant business mind overshadowed by his hedonistic vices. Of course, none of it can be verified, and nothing seems to change his successes.

But behind closed doors, this is a man of conviction, who wants nothing more than to see his wife’s goals actualized, to bring about the freedom his people deserve, to destroy what evil men have built. He embraces the persona he must inhabit to accomplish his goals. The only person he cares to know the rumors aren’t true is the one person who already knows they aren’t, which is the only reason he can truly continue cheekily ignoring them.

God, I love this man.
