Yes, school starts in, like, four days, but I am 100% ready to do my first 2021 challenge. It’ll give me a nice break from studying microbiology for an hour or so. And instead of rehashing something I did a while ago on my old blog, well, it’s a new year, isn’t it? Shedding 2020’s constraining, dry, and altogether unpleasant skin and emerging a … shiny new … snake? I don’t know where I was going with that metaphor, but I refuse to erase that and try again.

Anyway, I’m partially hesitant about being optimistic in regards to the following twelve months, seeing as the first several weeks of 2020 seemed to improve upon its predecessor, but the tiny obnoxious, overly positive shoulder monkey that lives in my brain keeps telling me to get my hopes up. Be happy. Learn about who you are and how to be a better person. Forget 2020 Jenn; this is 2021 Jenn. And so, keeping with that theme, my first challenge is Xena: Warrior Princess.

Technically, I started doing a challenge on Xena back in 2016 or 2017 on my old blog but kind of forgot about it? And then I saw this:

Which reminded me how much I loved that Xena was the better, more popular show than Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, which in turn reminded me how much I actually loved Xena period. Sure, there’s a lot of bad acting and even worse SFX, but I think it’s time to revisit the show in all its glory. I just bought the complete series on DVD (who knows when it will go off of streaming, and I don’t want to scramble like I did with Battlestar Galactica), and I am stoked, y’all.
