So did y’all know that working nights absolutely sucks? Because it does. I honestly thought I wouldn’t mind it – I mean, no management, slower pace, patients are sleeping, etc. – but now that I’ve been on the graveyard shift for a little over two months, I’m about to lose what little sanity I have. So naturally, what I do is start a rewatch of Buffy the Vampire Slayer as a coping mechanism, and I honestly forgot how great the music was on this show.

And that experience is your gain! Enjoy, my friends!

Yayyyyyy, it’s back!! I’ve actually really missed this feature because it made me get out of my comfort zone and listen to music I otherwise would have skipped. Granted, a lot of today’s playlist has a lot of 90s music on here because I’m feeling nostalgic, but hey, at least I’m upfront about that.

Now, I’m switching to Mondays because I figure this is a good way to start the week off right. I’ve also started creating YouTube playlists again, just in case you don’t want to have to click on every single song on here. I’ll be updating it with each subsequent week (I’m doing seasons as opposed to months because that got a little intense), so feel free to click on over there if you don’t want to wait for a new “on rotation.”

Alrighty, onto the music!

Enjoy!!

Alrighty, I’m back with another playlist of whatever YouTube chooses from my thousands of liked videos. I’m surprised that I’ve only run into a few repeats over the past several attempts of doing this, and I can only hope that it stays that way. Spotify was always really bad about this when I’d place it on shuffle; I’d just get a run of the same few artists, but it got worse as my list got longer somehow. You’d think it’d be more shuffle-friendly at that point, but oh well.

Anyway … enjoy!

You know, as I get into my thousands of YouTube likes, I have realized what a weird, eclectic music taste I have, and I am okay with that. I mean, I’m pretty sure everybody is this way? So I’m not tooting my own horn here, but I definitely do not fit a single algorithm. Maybe that’s why YouTube has such a hard time recommending things for me.

Oh, well. I’ll find stuff on my own, I guess.

And I’m back on my shit, y’all. New playlist, same YouTube likes.

September has always been one of those months that I associate with change, probably because it was the beginning of a new school year (which is such a weird concept to me now that I’m older), and I’ve found myself being a lot more open to those changes. I mean, I’ve just graduated from nursing school, and I’ll be taking my NCLEX fairly soon, which means – so long as I pass – I’ll be officially changing job descriptions from student to nurse, and I’ve reached a point in my life that I am taking a lot more stock in manifesting the life that I want by actually doing things to accomplish it instead of just putting that energy out there.

This has nothing to do with today’s playlist, but whatever.

In but two days, it will officially be June 2022, which is so bizarre to me because it was, like, just June 2021. The music I’ve been listening to has definite summer vibes, though, and it’s a place I could live indefinitely. I’m one of those forever summer people, partially because my extremities almost never stay warm, so if I can channel it even a little early, I’m here for it.

And as always, head on over to YouTube for the full May 2022 playlist!

You know, I was going to do themes for this particular series of posts, but each time I try to make it a regular thing, I always go back to my “pure randomness” way of selecting songs, so … I think I’m just going to have those be the exceptions. Something to do when I have the time to think of shit to center a playlist around or if I get a wild hair up my ass. Hell, I may not do any introductions whatsoever? Just have y’all jump right in with my favorite tracks for the week.

Meh, I’ll make that decision at some point, but not today! Today is for … doing nothing, methinks.

Anyway, without further ado, here’s this week’s playlist!

I’ve been doing a lot of reevaluation lately because … well, it’s a long story – one that I’ll be doing a post on very soon, maybe even this week – and I’m still processing a lot of shit. Naturally, this means I’ve been distracting myself with all sorts of things, like studying, drawing, painting, and listening to new (to me) music.

Thankfully, YouTube Music’s algorithm has gotten better at suggesting different artists to sample, but there’s still quite a bit of work I need to do. It doesn’t help that it includes some of the other videos I watch over on YouTube itself, which can make curated playlists a wee bit weird. And it includes artists that I am not fans of (I’m looking at you, Lords of Acid). But then again, Spotify had years of information regarding my listening choices, and they were quite piss poor when I started there, too. I even complained to my then-husband that I preferred Pandora, which I’ve actually considered listening to again now that I’ve dropped Spotify.

What a weird, cyclical world we live in.

But anyway, here are some of the results from my new and improved musical suggestions, and as always (since last week), feel free to head over to my YouTube playlist!
