I’m one of those annoying people that likes to go into movies and shows already knowing the basic plot because I want to be able to watch with a critical eye more easily. Yes, I’m that fun at parties. Plus, it gets me thinking about my own writing: how will people respond to my stories? What parts will they hate and for what reasons? Personal? Or just shitty writing on my part? What parts will they adore? What head-canon will they develop and then create fanfic about? I know, I’m getting a bit ahead of myself, but still … I want to be prepared.
So I decided that I wanted to examine my favorites in a way that will inspire me to do better than even my own inspirations. I revisited several challenges that I did back on my old blog – starting with a redo of Buffy the Vampire Slayer – but I branched out pretty soon afterward.
