This is actually more of an update than anything else because things are gonna be changing up. I have decided that my blogging is going to happen over on Tumblr, with fun little updates on Bluesky, art & photography on Flashes, and whatever I’m gonna do on Skylight … honestly, I’ll probably just lurk over there because that’s pretty much what I did on TikTok.

Anyway, the goal is to do updates on my writing here … well, on this website, at least. I’ll be deactivating the blog function sometime this month, so it’s going to be a static main page with other ones dedicated to what I’m working on, like character descriptions, excerpts, etc. Honestly, I may just shut it down after my domain expires and just focus elsewhere.

I just kind of had to pull back and see that I’m just not getting a ton of traction here and never really did? I’m not complaining, just admitting defeat in this arena. The internet is a very crowded space with a lot of people calling for attention, and my voice was just not loud enough. Over on the few social media sites I’m on now, I at least get responses and have a dialogue with people, whereas over here, I’m just kinda talking to myself. Ha.

Ultimately, this was a choice I made to 1) simplify my life and 2) adjust to the reality I have instead of the one I thought I wanted. I guess that’s what getting older does to a person, and it’s not necessarily a bad thing. Your priorities shift or you become more realistic, and that’s okay. I’m not quitting writing or anything … I’m just reevaluating what writing means to me.
