And now to deviate from navel gazing, it’s time for an update on Paradiso! I’m happy to report that it’s coming along nicely, and I’ll be posting a couple things both here on the blog portion of this website and on the page dedicated to it. I’m really excited about this story and cannot wait to share excerpts, character stuff, and whatever I can come up with. I promise not all of my posts are going to be doom and gloom!
But anyway, onto the update!
I’ve only got a bit of it written, but I have the whole book planned out: it starts and ends with an explosion, there’s a mystery afoot, social commentary and political maneuvering are major components … I could go on, but I don’t want to give too much away.
I feel like this story is very apropos for our current political climate, and although it didn’t start out that way – I’ve been writing this, or at least trying to, since before 2016 – the original version has been updated to reflect that. Art is supposed to critically examine the culture and social environment of the time it inhabits, and I’m desperately trying to do that, all the while telling an exciting story.
So anyway, I hope you tune in over the next couple of months! It’s a truly thrilling time for me, despite all the everything, and I want to take you all along with me.
