I’ve always kind of had a hard time falling asleep at night, and when I went to third shift at my last job, dear god, did it get even worse. So I began doing what I used to do in my final years of high school and into college: leaving ambient music on. I know, it’s not revolutionary, but you know what? I’m sleeping better now, and my Fitbit tracker proves it!

Now, a lot of these run really long (like, 10 hours?), so you may just want to listen to snippets of them, or start a playlist on YouTube or wherever like I did. Or be my guest and click on the videos below? Whatever floats your boat, I suppose.

Don’t worry, I got him back, but I’m sure you can imagine what kind of mental state I was in for the two days he was missing. I still have no idea how he got out, but he has had to deal with me in Mama Bear mode since I found him underneath a neighbor’s house, seemingly content to have me call and reach out to him while he rubbed all over somebody else’s belongings. #cats I think he’s decided, though, is that Outside = No Food + Rainy, seeing as those are the only things he experienced. Oh, and that big dogs are scary.

What I love is how supportive literally everyone was. I didn’t get any “oh, it’s just a cat” or “seriously, there are bigger things to worry about” comments, thankfully – although one of my coworkers did inadvertently make me cry when he jokingly told me my hello wasn’t enthusiastic enough for him – and if they weren’t actively helping me look for him, they were sending as many good vibes as they possibly could. Even strangers on Facebook groups were trying to comfort me. And when I found him, the jubilance was palpable.

Honestly, humans have a great capability of being loving creatures. I just wish this was all the time. Sigh.

28 Day The Adventure Zone Challenge, Supplemental: Fan Art

I know I already finished this challenge, but I just got to looking at all the amazing fan art that has come from the listeners of The Adventure Zone and knew that I had to do a supplemental on it. The McElroys encourage their fans to come up with their own canon appearances of their characters, and that, in turn, has created some of the most diverse, beautiful depictions that wouldn’t have shown up had they done otherwise.

Here are some of my favorites, but I really do recommend just googling TAZ fan art. It’s good for the soul to see how much people love these characters, and damn, it’s some good art, anyway.

28 Day The Adventure Zone Challenge, Supplemental: Favorite Quotes with No Context

Even though I ended my challenge a couple of days ago, I just can’t get enough of TAZ. So, this is a list that is literally just quotes that I frequently spout, apropos of nothing. Well, that’s not entirely true; I do understand context. Needless to say, most people don’t get that I’m actually quoting anything, and I am oddly okay with that.

Back in the day, I was obsessed with anime. Like … it was probably unhealthy, honestly. I even wanted to work in animation, a dream I gave up around the ripe old age of 19, which is curiously the same period I stopped watching the bulk of new anime that seemed to be coming over in droves from the Land of the Rising Sun. Prior to that, though, I spent a ridiculous amount of money on VHS tapes (that only had two, maybe three, if you were lucky, episodes on each) when I worked at Sam Goody/Suncoast, but I can at least thank that period of my life for introducing me to the wonderful, wacky world of Japanese music. Specifically, anime soundtracks.

To this day, I listen to a lot of the same ones I did years ago, and I could probably do a whole list of better known tracks, like the openings (like Neon Genesis Evangelion‘s), but instead, I’m going with some of my favorite deep cuts. Enjoy!
